Lectio Divina in English

Have you had the incredible experience of the Prayerful Reading of God's Word? Also known as "Lectio Divina", it is a method of prayer and formation, very effective for spiritual growth and intimacy with the Word of God. The Church recommends us to do it daily, with the readings of the day. WebTv presents the program every day, in four languages (Portuguese, English, French and Dutch), always in the morning. Come with us!

The Lectio Divina that we know today, is presented as a method of reading the Scriptures, has its origins in the XII century, related to what has been called "monastic theology". After the Second Vatican Council, there was a growing orientation toward dedication to the study and prayer of Sacred Scripture. The Compendium of Lectio Divina is also a daily instrument of formation, unity, and spiritual vision - through the precious monthly teachings of the Seeds of the Word Community’s founder and the daily liturgy offered by the Church. It is also a compendium of prayer and daily intercession, following each day the Scriptures that urge us to run to announce, in the Houses of Life, Houses of Alliance, in the many missions around the world. But also, soul to soul, in listening, in sharing the bread of the Word and in spiritual accompaniment!

Lectio Divina

It's done in five steps:

1- Reading (What does the Word say?)
2- Meditation (What does God speak to me?)
3- Prayer (What do I answer to God?)
4- Contemplation (The Word that ignites my heart)
5- Resolution (How am I called to live the Word?)
